The Darjeeling district nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas offers the high altitudes and heavy mists that create an ideal growing environment for the delightful, robust flavor of Darjeeling Tea.  When ordering Darjeeling, it is important to understand the seasonal nature of each harvest. There are four distinctive harvests, each affecting the delicious flavor profiles of Darjeeling Tea.  The first flush is known for its greenish cup, exquisite woodsy aroma, and crisp clean lively mouth feel.  The second flush has a more robust body with a muscatel character. The third harvest, or Monsoon harvest, is very abundant with a milder flavor. And finally, the fourth harvest is called the Autumnal harvest, offering teas that are similar in character to the second flush with a balanced, round, nutty flavor. Darjeeling Tea is a very specialized tea, with only 87 Darjeeling Tea Estates.
